I am really curious to understand what type of values are inculcated in the homes of oriyas specially positive ones. I am a non oriya married to an oriya and want to learn more. Somethings that I have seen in my husband's family are: great love within the family, respect for elders, a lot of interest to celebrate the festivals, praying everyday, etc.

Apananka experience re kana kana values pila mananku sikheba katha? Daya kari share kale I will be thankful.

Thank you.

Its really gud that u r curious to know abt the values u want to giv to ur kid.First of all i want to wish u , as for being a non-oriya u r able to speak good oriya(the last line says so).

i will suggest one thing if u r in a good cultured environment where there is values and respect within the family members, then automatically the child growing in that env. will bloom into a beautiful flower.

As already said by u that u can see in ur husband's family that it is full of love, respect, interest to celebrate, worship god etc...then i think these r the building blocks with which u can start gromming ur kid with all such things.

But yes as ur from another culture u may find some differences, but i think u r the solemn judge of what is gud and bad while making a differentiation of the 2 cultures and moreover u r at a best position standing doing a great job making the 2 calculation and concluding at a right point.

thanks and go ahead.

thanks.

Hi,
Well Values are universal for all communities as regards to child rearing, atleast thats my personal belief. We all as parents, desire our children to have common values of honesty, kindness, responsibility ,sincerity, respect for family and elders....However with changing times we need to equip our kids with new rules to face the changing world.Extremely essential that they learn to be tenacious, confident, assertive and have the ability to speak ones mind.Boy,its a tough world and really there is no manual that comes with child birth,we live and learn from one another.Amen.
